Before paying with crypto, you must have some in a wallet. Creating a crypto wallet is relatively straight, with different types of wallets ideal for every type of user, from complete newbies to seasoned power users. After you create a wallet, then you'll need to acquire cryptocurrency to spend. This can be done by buying your assets or having a friend send them to your wallet address. For this example, let's say you already have the required funds in your BTC wallet. All you need to do is send the CORRECT amount with the fee included to the crypto address.

To make a payment with Bitcoin (BTC) directly using Blockonomics, ensuring you send the correct amount including fees, follow these steps:

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Click on (Crypto Directly) Bitcoin to go to the payment page:

    • When you initiate a payment on a platform, you will be provided with an invoice. This invoice includes the exact amount of BTC you need to send and the receiving Bitcoin address.
  2. Calculate Total BTC Amount (including fees):

    • Note the exact amount of BTC required for the payment.
    • Determine the transaction fee your wallet or exchange (like Binance) will charge for sending BTC. This can be a fixed amount or a dynamic fee based on network congestion.
    • Calculate the total amount you need to send, which is the required payment amount plus the transaction fee.
  3. Send BTC from Your Wallet (e.g., Binance):

    • Open your BTC wallet or exchange account (such as Binance).
    • Select the option to send BTC.
    • Enter the recipient's Bitcoin address (provided by Blockonomics).
    • Enter the exact amount of BTC specified by Blockonomics.
    • Check your wallet's fee settings. Ensure you have enough BTC in your wallet to cover both the payment and the transaction fee.
  4. Adjust for Fees:

    • In many wallets, you can adjust the transaction fee manually. Set a fee that ensures your transaction will be processed quickly, but also be aware of the total amount being sent from your wallet.
    • If your wallet does not allow fee adjustment, you need to manually add the fee to the total amount being sent to ensure the recipient gets the correct payment amount.

Example Calculation

  • Required Payment Amount: 0.01 BTC
  • Transaction Fee: 0.0005 BTC

Total BTC to send from your wallet:

Total BTC = Required Payment Amount + Transaction Fee

Total BTC = 0.0105 BTC

In this example, you will need to send 0.0105 BTC from your wallet to ensure the recipient gets exactly 0.01 BTC.
